My childhood was spent traveling due to a military family.
Pollocksville, NC is where I call home with my husband and son.
I’ve always considered myself a potter. When my adopted son came home from Guatemala in the beginning of 2008 he needed lots of attention, so my time at the pottery wheel became very limited. As a creative outlet I took a principals of drawing class and immediately was hooked.
As an artist, I love expressing what I see in bright colors. I’m always fascinated with the results of every portrait, whether its mine or another artists portrait.
A painter puts to paper what they see in their mind
It’s cool to see that interpretation
I enjoy drawing and painting people and animals. I’m enamored with expression and mood. Most of my inspirations come from a personal link to the subject or an emotion I see. I love trying to capture someone’s expression at that moment.
A portrait stops time for that instant, for an eternity
As a self taught artist, I constantly study and explore art. The key to painting for me is practice, practice and more practice.
I no longer have the luxury of toiling away my days in my pottery shed—Now I paint everyday.
