I have studied fine artists such as Jerry Yarnell, Buck Paulson, Joanny, Jeff Yoemans, Luongo and others. Also have attended workshops.
My art is surf oriented and generally consists of surfboards, beaches, surf, seascapes, lifeguard towers, beach houses and buildings.
I am still surfing locally here in Huntington Beach, Calif, am able to get out 2-3 times a week. Surfing drives my art and painting
helps me enjoy surfing.
I use the best art materials available, oil & acrylic paints on traditional canvas. Small paintings are usually done on canvas board or gesso board. Sizes are generally in the 12 by 16 and 18 by 24 inch range, and occasionally a larger piece will be created. We accept and welcome commissions.
Fine art techniques are used. Includes under-painting, then going over each area of the image with additional coats of paint, takes me 20 to 30 hours to complete each piece. While I paint my thoughts are on composition, color, values, and surfing. I try to get a lot of bright colors in each piece of work I do.
My age now is 81. Married to Joyce 59 years. Three children, five grandchildren, and 3 great grandsons, .Jaxon, and newly arrived Mateo and Finnley.
For several months I was an infantry soldier, Korean War, 1951. Purple Heart. Former ballplayer, racing yachtsman and golfer.
