I have almost always been categorized as a perfectionist. A few years ago as I reflected back over my life I became aware that not everyone was always comfortable with my attempts to get it just right or simply not do it at all. My passion for photography was no different and I am very pleased to have captured a few shots that qualify as Fine Art Photography. However....
It was only when my family shared some images printed out on proof paper that I had no intent to market let alone even share, that I learned a valuable life lesson......'it's not about me'. Oh by the way, those prints that were not to be seen by anyone? They all sold!...so much for my perfectionism.
Do I still look for that perfect shot? You bet, especially if I have been commissioned or contracted with that expectation. Just the right light, just the right equipment, just the right framing, just the right everything or nothing at all.
One of my favorite photos is that of a flower in the foreground in focus and a flower in the background intentionally not. However, the foreground blossom had a blemish. Hmmm... I really liked the 'capture' so I proceeded to edit out this blemish. And then I was reminded that none of us were made perfect and without any flaws. I titled it 'Legacy' and left it as it was. You may view it within our Inspirational Gallery and read on for the rest of the story.
I have come to find a passion within my passion for photography and that is to share as many of life's moments as possible. I encourage you to do the same.
