I am a self taught artist with no formal training. I started creating art from items that I would find on the beach, along with things people would discard as trash. The found items became my recycled treasures of creativity. My main focus was about color, so I then started experimenting with different mediums of paint. I found that acrylic and encaustic paints gave me the emotional satisfaction that was needed to complete my pieces. Most of my art is untitled because they can be seen in many different ways by the viewer. 'What you see is what you get.' I often have people tell me what they see, is so different from my own vision. I consider myself a mixed media abstract artist.
Many of my pieces are painted on the wood from wine crates and left over plywood from building projects. There are so many things that we discard as useless that are valuable, if we just take the time and look beyond the surface.
