Brian Curran was born in Honolulu, Hawaii April 13th, 1986. He recently moved to Denver, Colorado in 2007 from Pensacola, Florida where he resided for the past 13 years. He recently graduated from the University of Colorado Denver earning his BFA with an emphasis in Drawing
His work includes charcoal, dry pastel, and pencil drawings, as well as photography, painting, and graphic design. His drawings are photorealistic in nature and the subject matter mainly deals with portraits of popular icons and images of his personal friends.
He has done graphic design work for The Crossroads Theatre, Dazzle Jazz Club, and Support Africa Empowerment Foundation International.
He has had Solo Exhibitions in Denver at Dazzle Jazz Club for First Monday Art Talk, The Auraria Library Gallery, Café Netherworld, Jamaica Juice in the Writer’s Square, and Three Kings Tavern. He has participated in several Group Exhibitions including the CHAC art gallery show ART, The Westword Artopia Pre-party, and La Piazza D’elle Arte Live Chalk Drawing Festival. He Currently does live drawings at Denver Restaurants and Music Venues including Bender’s Tavern, Casselman’s Music Venue, and the Denver Creative Co-op Studio. He plans to attend Graduate School for his Master of Fine Art with an emphasis in Drawing and is currently researching fellowships at several Universities.
His current work is on display at Casselman's Music Venue.
