Bud is an avid outdoorsman and is inspired by the natural world.   He enjoys working in watercolor and wire doing landscape, wildlife, and scenes of everyday life.   Storytelling is a trait passed down to him from his parents and he takes great pleasure in designing compositions that present the viewer with all the elements of a good story or a vivid memory.   Lately, he has been spending much of his time-twisting wire.   You can find his wire sculptures at https://wiredbybud.com.Education: Master of Arts in Education & BFA/Art Education Grants and Awards: McKnight Foundation...more

Artwork Accepted In Horizontal Grandeur Juried Art Exhibit

Milaca, MN - May 31st, 2011

A watercolor painting and a wire sculpture created by Bud Bullivant was recently accepted in this years' Horizontal Grandeur Art Exhibit. In 2006 when the first Horizontal Grandeur prairie art exhibit was held in our new gallery, Bill Holm's essay of the same name was our inspiration. Since 1990, when this essay was discovered in his first published work, The Music of Failure, his writings have inspired countless prairie dwellers to appreciate their surroundings to "have a prairie eye." This year we are honoring the memory of Bill Holm, author of the essay that inspired the title of this exhibit. Horizontal Grandeur is an annual event that will carry on his legacy and love of the prairie we call home. July 8th- October 28th, 2011 Stevens County Historical Society 116 West 6th Street Morris, MN
