Carmela Cattuti is a Boston and Florida based artist who has explored the relationship between energy and the artistic process of shape, form, and color. She has studied extensively at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and at the Museums School in Boston. She is an abstract realist, maintaining her sense of form and application of color to express the unseen, but uses the classical guidelines of third dimensional perspective and color. She has created commissions for law firms, schools, and private homes. She has also created work for theater set design and dance companies. When you commission a painting from Carmela, it is a collaborative process. The client actively participates in choosing the image and color. Her clients find the democratic process of executing a work cooperatively an exciting and energizing experience.
As an artist she enjoys sharing her work and creates decoupage pieces with her images so that everyone can buy her work. Her images are put on everyday practical objects such as tray and boxes.
She exhibits her work throughout Boston and Florida and has participated in many solo and juried shows. She is currently at work on two series: 'Sassy Boston' and 'Paris Windows.'
