I have loved art as far back as I can remember. I was born in Havana, Cuba in 1955 and moved to the United States at the age of six in 1961. I lived in New York until the age of 11, and then moved with my family to sunny South Florida. I was always very involved in the arts while attending grade school and competed in every art competition ever offered. In High School, I was chosen to design the year book cover for the graduating class of 1973 and was voted most artistic by my senior classmates. Later that year, I was accepted to Pratt Institute (a private art college in New York City); however I could not attend due to my family financial obligations. Instead, I ended up attending a local community college in South Florida for two years majoring in Interior Design. While attending junior college, I worked as a commercial artist for Jefferson Stores (owned by Montgomery Wards). In 1978, I ended up being hired by Pan American World Airways, moved back to New York City where I was based and traveled all over the world with Pan Am for eleven years. During that time, I also worked as a freelance artist for the Yellow Pages in New York City and sold some commissioned portraiture artwork. A few years later, I got married, had a beautiful little girl and eventually quit my airline career and just worked as a freelance artist. The years have flown by, my daughter is now a beautiful woman and I am still enjoying my passion for art.
In 2010 my husband and I decided to leave Florida and move to the eastern part of the state of Tennessee, where the mountain views are spectacular. Art has been and will always be my passion. I work in different mediums (graphite pencil, pen & ink, oils, watercolors and acrylics). Most of my artwork in the past has been created and sold on commission basis. Some of the original pieces of artwork displayed on this web site have been sold or are part of my own personal collection. I still offer commission work upon request.
I have recently gotten seriously into photography and enjoy experimenting with new techniques that the newer digital cameras have to offer. I truly hope you enjoy my work and please don't hesitate to drop me a line or two if you need additional information.
