For now here is my biography below.
I have always loved being creative and I am particularly interested in colour, texture and patterns. My work is full of vibrant bright colours but I do use more subtle colours occasionally for a more natural look.
I like to be led by the wax and ‘go with the flow’ but also enjoy trying to control the hot molten wax, pushing it with the heat and tools in different directions until I have the design I am after.
I am hooked with the encaustic art technique as much now as when I started in 1991.
From a very young age I was considered good at art and planned to go to art college to train as an art teacher but at the age of 16 I took a different route which I now regret.
Those who have met me will tell you I am very enthusiastic about this medium and happy to share my knowledge when I teach at venues around Hampshire where I live. I have taught encaustic techniques since 1996 and feel I have achieved my ambition to teach but of course in a much smaller way.
I am proud to say I am a self taught artist but I am still passionate about discovering and learning new ways with encaustic. I like to have something new up my sleeve
