Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Carol studied art and design at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas in Austin. She later completed a bachelor’s in Business Management at Rutgers University. She married her high school sweetheart, Leo, and moved to New Jersey. Together, they raised their two children, Gina and Jamal.
Carol and Leo retired and moved in 2005 to Tampa, where she once again pursued her art career.
Carol paints with acrylic paint using a variety of textures. She experiments with a variety of mediums and mixed media to create different textures. She also draws with charcoal. She has a primary focus on design and color with her abstracts and character with her portraits. Subject matter includes abstracts, people, animals, and flowers.
Carol is the past President of the North Tampa Arts League from 2010 – 2012’past VP of Events from 2012-2014, and is currently Secretary. Her work has also been exhibited at the Hunters Green Country Club, Carrollwood Cultural Center; The Great Frame Up; Beck Gallery; Hoffman-Porges Gallery, New Tampa Library where she was artist of the Month (August 2007 , February 2009, October 2011 and October 2013); Jimmie Keel Library; Exclusive Clientele Salon, Wine Harvest and The Jewelry Studio.
