Carole Swindall Poole graduated from Auburn University with a BS degree in Art Education and then moved to Georgia where she and her husband have raised their five children. She has worked in graphic design and in the public school system as well as teaching in a number of art venues. She works in watercolor and acrylics and expresses herself in a traditional, realistic style. She uses the play of sunlight and shadows in her work which she feels is the secret to a good painting. Often her subject matter consists of the everyday objects that we, the viewer, might otherwise bypass. Her strength lies in the fact that she feels there are no mistakes in art. Fear of failure is often the reason people don't reach artistic heights. She is thankful for her God-given abilities in the arts. Her work has been juried into numerous regional and national competitions. She has won many awards and participated in group and solo exhibitions. She is a Signature Member of the Alabama and the Georgia Watercolor Societies and a Member of Excellence in the Atlanta Artists Center. Carole is well-known as a tile painter and designer and has graced the halls of many Georgia schools with colorful wall murals. Her wonderful bounty of paintings, bathed in soft, southern light, have made their way into many private and corporate collections.
