My non-representational art is developed from images emerging during the painting process. I work quickly, applying paint freely, exploring color, shape, texture and line. My interest is in the excitement of motion and discovery and of creating something new and unique.
For landscapes, I start with a snapshot, but once I begin applying paint, I rely on intuition, imagination and memory. Here my interest is in using light, color and texture to create a mood or an impression of time and place.
I was born in Montreal, grew up in Connecticut, and moved to Florida in 1997. I have a degree in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State College and have studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia. After working for a short period illustrating children‘s educational materials, I returned to fine art as my main focus. I am a Signature Member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters, the National Association of Women Artists and the Artists‘ Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
