In her former life, as Carolyn calls it, her art career includes 15 years of co-owner, with her husband, of the art consulting firm in Silicon Valley,
Walls Alive Inc
The company created by the Marchetti’s in the early 70’s is still a leader in providing business and corporate art. Clients included corporations, interior designers and facilities planners.
Along with being a Cooperate Art Consultant, Carolyn taught art for a number of years and before moving to Lake County concluded her career by teaching a work shop series in 1991 and 1992 with the Santa Cruz Art League entitled “Alternative Markets for Artists.”
Photography is a relatively new adventure for this talented gal. It all started when she received an inexpensive digital camera from a company when she ordered their service. That was a few years ago and several cameras later.
In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 along with several ribbons, she took “Best of Show” at the Lake County Fair.
Recently she expanded her work into canvas mounts and digital alteration of original photography with a process called “Craquelure”
A network of fine cracks that appear on old paintings. It is a method to create an authentic feel to a painting in the style of an old master.
Carolyn’s photography has developed from trips to Europe and Mexico. Her educated eye and unique style primarily includes structural and still life images.
Presently she participates in several art shows a year and takes commissioned orders.
