Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Kingston, Ontario, I have been involved with art related endeavours my whole life.
My ambition is to portray the everyday beauty around us, to draw attention to the minutiae of life, to chase that elusive light, that illumination that fascinates me in paintings. I also wish to tell stories…. of people, books and places. I am currently working on are the ever changing and delightful scenry in the Hills of Headwaters and surrounding area, narrative stories of a fictitious couple and also a series portraying my interpretations of scenes from the Narnia books by C. S. Lewis.
Colour is my obsession and I am constantly experimenting and learning.
Working primarily in acrylics on stretched canvas, many of my paintings are done entirely with a palette knife, some with brush and others with a combination of both.
I find inspiration all around me, in music, in my favourite books and complete my
paintings either plein air or from my own photographs. .
Many of my original paintings are available by contacting me directly or can be seen at Dragonfly Arts in Orangeville, Ontario and frequently at the Alton Mills Gallery.
“...and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?”
