Chaline Ouellet is a figurative expressionist, originally from San Francisco, CA, Chaline has lived and worked in Seattle, WA. since the late 90's.
Inspired by the expressionist movements and heavily influenced by music, lyrics, poetry, and experience, her work explores the internal landscape and human condition with bold colour and strong line.
Her figures often present a sense of intimacy, contrasted by detachment. The mask like faces emerge from a rhythmic chaos with vague gazes that appear introspective and contemplative, 'There is a sense of tranquility, a quiet strength'. She also loves sailing and old boats especially old wooden tug boats.
Her work is held in private and corporate collections and exhibited regularly in Seattle, The Pacific Northwest, and California.
