Chaline Ouellet is an expressionist artist living and working in Seattle,WA.
Chaline's background includes studies in art history, figure and expressive drawing, landscape,collage and fiber arts.She is a published essayist and poet.
Her paintings combine the passion of the expressionists and bold colors of the fauvists. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas her subjects range from figures to abstracts. She enjoys experimenting with various styles and mediums. Her inspiration comes from urban living, people, music,color, and nature,especially the ocean.
'The waterfront is my favorite place to be. I'm drawn to the Ocean, sky and clouds.The clarity of blues and warmth of yellows and orange, the color explosion at sunset, breaking waves and flight of birds.' Chaline Ouellet.
