Charles Ridgway
After 40 years as top publicist for Walt Disney Parks in California, Florida and France, Charles Ridgway adopted travel photography as a major avocation nearly ten years ago. Building on 40 years of world travel, working with top photographers and major publications as part of his Disney job, he and his digital cameras have focused on favorite tourist sites in 20 countries plus many U.S. destinations including Hawaii. Most recent travels included in China, South Africa, Chile, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Greek Islands, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, Canada and the United Kingdom. Charlie is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and worked as a radio newsman, newspaper reporter, editor and photographer in Illinois, Pennsylvania and California before joining the Disneyland publicity staff in 1963. He was director of Walt Disney World Publicity for 10 years. He is the author of, Spinning Disney’s World, an insiders view of Disney parks, published in 2007 which gained rave reviews from Disney fans. He was designated a “Disney Legend” in 1999.
