A native of south Florida moved to Evansville, Indiana in 1992. Then attending the University of Southern Indiana and Ivy Tech state college, graduated with honors as a Registered Nurse. I choose this path as opposed to that of art because I was confident that my perseverance in being an artist would prevail. Nursing has been a priority in my life since childhood due to losing my father to heart disease at the age of only 37, and I vowed to make a difference through nursing.
The passion to paint has been a constant, but has grown stronger as this is part of me and expressing with words is great; however, expressing thru my art is vital. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to now shift my focus to my art.
When I paint, every color has special meaning, every stroke with the brush expressive and when a painting is complete there is proof of my purpose as it serves in reflecting pieces of me. Another cool aspect of my paintings, is that they are conducive with the contents of my writings; therefore, for those who follow my art and then read my book, the reader will see images of my art as if it had never been seen before. Of course my paintings, past, present and future will always reflect all of the chapters of my life.
As an artist, I write through poetry, journaling, etc. Currently, I am writing a nonfiction novel to be published end of 2011.
Please do not mistake me for someone of importance, but my experiences have motivated my soul to embrace the pursuit of creative artist within.
