I was born in Amarillo, Texas and spent much of my formative years in New Mexico, on my grandma Rosita's chile farm. I moved to Austin at the age of 18 and made my home in Austin, Texas for most of my life.
After a marriage and two children, I went back to art school at the age of thirty-two. I worked at an advertising agency in Los Angeles for a short time then moved back to Austin and became a free-lance artist. I then landed a job at the Austin American-Statesman where I worked as a graphic designer for fifteen years. I learned many valuable lessons working in corporate America, the most important being that creating
art is just a small part of being a successful artist. Knowing when a project is finished in order to meet tight deadlines is key to being a successful artist.
I worked with a variety of mediums, painting, creating mixed media art, mosaics, designing jewelry as well as graphic design work, creating CD covers, slide shows, websites, facebook pages and blogs on my Macintosh computer.
After many years of living in my beloved zip code of 78704 in Austin, TX, I hit the road. I lived in St Louis for a short time and I am now back in Texas, living part time in Dallas and part time in Austin.
Stay tuned for updates!
