My Name is Christine Shore and I am a self taught watercolor artist from Northern California. Watercolor painting came into my life when I needed to find “a peaceful place” inside my reclusive world. A place where there were no demands, judgments or limitations from the overwhelming outside world. I discovered a place where words were not required to express my feelings. I found that painting was a harbor where I could rest my worries from my agoraphobia and its challenges, and feel productive and rejuvenated.
My paintings have since become a form of meditation, a constant practice in letting inspiration flow. My art is inspired from memories, imagination, sometimes pictures and once in a while I do venture out to do plein air painting when we go to our quiet vacation spots.
I’m still on a journey to gain the upper hand with my agoraphobia and my artwork remains my constant companion. Painting keeps me in the present moment and supports my belief that there is always room to improve and find the “positive” in difficult situations.
My enduring hope and endeavor is to share something unique and joyful with the world and to keep myself open to new experiences.
Thank you to my loving husband John, our feline “kids”, my family & faithful friends for supporting me on this journey.
