I create my art to learn and grow as an artist, but mostly just because I love the freedom to be creative and the 'calm' that doing art brings to my being. It truly is the best therapy and an awesome escape from the hassles of daily life. So don't expect some 'BS', deep, philosophical explanation or meaning behind pieces I've done. I don't have one. I create art for the pure enjoyment it gives me. Art for the sake of Art. No other reason.
I've taught K-12 Art for the past 10 years. I love creating my own art and helping others learn to use the medium and then develop their own skills and talents. I have loved art and wanted to be an art teacher since I was in the second grade. My art teacher, Mr. Essner, inspired me to be the 'art person' I am today. He was a wonderful teacher and I strive daily with the hope of being at least half as good as he was. I work in a variety of mediums, mostly experimenting and learning. I would say that drawing is my favorite medium and the one I probably understand more. Art is a large part of my life. I am still learning and growing as an artist so every piece or drawing I make, is really just a practice for the next one.
If you are interested in original artwork on my site, please email me. Most of those that are unavailable for prints, I may have the original. The images on my computer are the incorrect size to allow for prints. I also do commission work and large murals.
