Crystal is a Kansas City area photographer. She has been taking photographs since she got her first Instamatic camera. She also has attended numerous photography classes, seminars and workshops given by local and nationally known photographers. Crystal likes to shoot many different subjects. She feels that photographs are very personal and keeps variety in her work to appeal to a wider audience.
She belongs to Kansas City Artists Coalition, Lawrence Art Guild, Johnson County Camera Club, Digital Dimensions, Wyandotte Camera Club and the Kansas City Zoo Photography Club. She has exhibited her work at West Wyandotte Library, Kansas City Kansas Public Library, Images Art Gallery, Buttonwood Art Space, KCAC River Market Regional Exhibition, Art at the Center in Overland Park, Kansas City Missouri Police Department, Frick Modern Art Gallery, 1109 Gallery and various coffee shops, art shows and festivals in the Kansas City area.
Artist's Statement:
I think of my photography as a “Journey”; one that I have been on for some time now. A “journey” that records forever a split second of time. It’s a litany of people that have crossed my path; places I have been, an assortment of animals, objects or landscapes that have caught my attention. It’s always something I feel is worthy of a second look; something that needs to be shared with others. When I photograph something, I do it for myself. But the real satisfaction is when someone buys my art and wants to come along on my “Journey”.
