Born in 1948, Dale was raised on a farm in Wisconsin where he learned to respect the environment and God’s creatures that call the woods and the forest home. After high school, Dale joined the Marine Corps and spent most of his tour as a member of the coveted Marine Corps Band. While on tour with the Marine Band, Dale would spend his off days visiting national parks and wilderness areas in almost every state. After the Marine Corps, Dale started a career mastering 18th century architecture which required wood carving, artistic renderings, and design. This eventually led Dale into a career of home building and architectural design.
However, Dale’s passion for the outdoors and wildlife never left him. He has spent a lifetime climbing mountains and crossing rivers to see what God had created on the other side. In the early 90’s, Dale decided to create wildlife art to show others what God has allowed him to see and what God has allowed him to dream. “My goal was to create wildlife art that looked like a photograph yet retained the artistic appeal of a fine art painting.” Dale says. To accomplish this, Dale was required to “think outside the box” because there was no other artist Dale felt had captured the real life style Dale was looking to achieve. “Besides,” Dale says, “I did not want to be an artist who had captured another artist’s style or technique.”
Breathtaking realism, uncompromising authenticity, and precise attention to detail brings Dale’s wildlife art to life. When asked how he does this? Dale replies: Learning to create a rendition of a deer is relatively easy, to create real life deer requires years of observing them in their natural environment.
Dale also creates Christian Art that was inspired by the Holy Bible. “My Christian Art is meant to be my way of Witnessing In Christ Through Art.” Dale says. “I don’t believe Christian artwork can possibly be as inspiring as the Bible verse that influenced it.” “However, Christian art can be a gateway to the Bible verse.”
Dale currently lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with his wife Kim and their son Sean. “My wife is my biggest supporter and finest example of God's grace and beauty.” Dale says.
