As long as I can remember, I have been drawing and painting. By the time I was 19, I was a Senior Graphic Designer in a Chicago advertising agency. Having had more courage than brains, at that time, I had walked into the Creative Director’s office, unannounced, and began showing him samples from my portfolio. After a few minutes explaining to him that I was attending art school and had no practical experience, but would still be a benefit to him, he said that he would throw me out, except, my artwork was bold, fresh and exciting. After talking with a few more people, I was hired.
Life had other plans for me. I became fascinated with the Hospitality business. I attended culinary school where I received a degree in the culinary arts. Eventually, I became the Executive Chef in places such as the Sutton Place Grande Hotel Chicago, The Talbott Hotel (Chicago) and Don Shula’s / Westin Hotel Itasca. During the whole of my culinary career, I never stopped making or selling my art work. I began selling my art work on a full time basis in 2011 and have sold to private collectors in the United States, Europe and Asia.
