I've always felt an attraction to the natural world. My childhood experiences exploring the lakes and woodlands of Michigan through family vacations and scouting excursions developed my love of the outdoors.
Photography has been an avocation that might seem far removed from my career as a software engineer, but I believe there is an inquisitive, creative thread in each. I've been taking photographs for a long time, initially to record the events of a growing family and the places we traveled. Now, an empty nest and retirement has offered the opportunity to use photography as a way to capture and share the images in my view.
Our home alternates between Michigan and the South Texas Gulf Coast so many of my photos are focused in those strikingly different geographic areas, and many points in between. My wife and I love the call of the open road and when we get the chance, we like to roam the country to visit family, friends and our national parks and monuments.
