Free Lance Artist , writer and photographer. I have spent many years primarily working with animals and the travel industry. My creative urges ignited several years ago while working with injured Birds of Prey in Alaska. All my life I dabbled in art, although never formally trained until several years back when i took a Watercolor course in the field. Although not my chosen medium, it gave me new insight and ever since then have been playing with different mediums. Mostly, I do photography, I have sold some of my work, although as of yet I have not acquired the proper SLR, so I am hoping that this will manifest in my very near future. My main inspirations come from nature and animals and I love working with bright colors. While traveling which I do rather often I was living in Guatemala the winter of 2010 and was trying to decide whether to do a language course or an art course. Well of course I opted for the art course. This was a Mayan inspired oil painting class taught by a young Mayan man who was trying to support his family. Not only did I learn a great deal, I was also helping him out. The end result of the class I entitled Senorita Toucana, inspired from a sample of a beautiful Toucan which I had been lucky enough to see a wild one while there. In any case, my artistic endeavors range from fabric art dolls to digital drawing. I love sharing my work with other's as I find art a healing outlet. In addition to all these experiences I have also taught Artistic Expression for children which was one of my greatest joys and I hope to continue on this path for a long time coming.
