Photographer DENNIS FAST is one of Manitoba's best known wildlife and nature photographers. Although Dennis has traveled extensively in Canada and the USA, his real passion has been for the North.
Dennis has made at least 50 trips to Churchill and other points on Hudson Bay and the sub-arctic in pursuit of images that would satisfy his vision. Although polar bears have been his special subject, many other animals, birds and landscapes make up his portfolio.
Dennis has been the sole or principal photographer for 11 books, including “Wapusk: White Bear of the North,” “The Land Where the Sky Begins,” a book about North America's endangered tall grass prairie, commissioned by The Nature Conservancy of Canada”, “Wild West: Nature Living on the Edge,” and 5 other books.
One of Dennis's images of a polar bear recently reached the finals of the prestigious BBC photo competition, and another image of a pair of Scissor-tailed Flycatchers in courtship display won first place in the National Wildlife Federation's 2010 photography competition in the bird category, pro division.
Dennis is much in demand as a speaker across Canada and into the USA. He has been a presenter at numerous Camera Canada Conferences sponsored by CAPA, as well as at community fund raisers, business seminars, and many other events.
