I grew up in the southeast with my artist father but am very much at home in the south west. My inspiration comes from my life's experiences and the land around me. Being a college art instructor and a newspaper arts editor helped as well. I work from the spirit and heart, seeing the magnificent colors here in the southwest and feeling the energy from the ancients. I have always preferred to live & experience life to the fullest, I guess that's where my adventurous spirit comes from. After my divorce, did just that; I left the California corporate world and lived as a cowgirl for nearly five years in NM, NV, AZ and CO.
While teaching art in college, I lived on an Indian Pueblo, just north of Santa Fe, NM for another five. After a year in HI, I couldn't wait to get back to Santa Fe and settle down. I had a brief seven years of being settled, and it was good. Recently, I have been traveling and living in eastern TN and then back in coastal CA, Tucson and Sedona, AZ. I've enjoyed an extended stay in the Portland, OR area to be with my family, but now am returning back to Santa Fe, NM which has always felt more like home than anywhere else.
I have enjoyed some really interesting experiences and people and am attempting to write and compile these stories into something interesting for others to enjoy.
I've always had an adventureous spirit and follow that flo. I can do that because of living alone. Sometimes I miss attachments and sharing my life with someone, but then I realize that the absence of attachments is what has allowed me the freedom to experience my unusual and free life and doing my arts. The world, and nature speak to me. I am pleased with my work when others are moved by it. So, come view my works and see the southwest, and the world through my eyes!
