A Little About Me...
Specializing in oil painting and whimsical drawings, unusual and everyday sights are what I love to paint. Still life studies, vintage scenes, landscapes, remembrances, beloved pets and those animals which touch our hearts have unique meaning to me.

Award and Exhibit Information
I have been fortunate to receive many awards during the years I have been painting. This year I received an Homorable Mention for the oil painting 'Evening Song' at the Randolph County's 2012 Juried Art Show. In 2010 I was awarded Second Place in the Fine Arts League Of Cary Miniature & Small Works Show for my oil painting 'Pear Trio'. I also received an Honorable Mention award in the 2011 31st Annual Fine Arts Exhibit held by the Arts Council of Moore County for my oil painting 'Evening Song'. And in December of 2011 I received second place award for 'Evening Song' from the Fine Arts League Of Cary 2011 Juried Painting Exhibition.
My paintings are exhibited in local and regional galleries, businesses, and private collections.
I am currently exhibiting at Hollyhocks Art Gallery in Pinehurst, North Carolina, at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond Virginia, at Campbell House Galleries in Southern Pines, NC, and at Morings Arts and Crafts in Asheboro, NC.
I have been accepted into many national and regional juried shows including Hilton Head National Juried Exhibition, the Annual Mid-Atlantic Juried Art Exhibit, the Long Island Arts Council Juried Exhibit, the Visual Art Exchange juried N.E.W. Annual Exhibit, the Randolph Arts Guild Annual Juried Art Show, the Raleigh Fine Arts Society Artists Exhibition and the well-known Fine Arts League Of Cary Juried Painting Exhibition.

A bit about my prints from FineArtAmerica...
The prints offered here at FineArtAmerica.com are generally of original oil paintings. My prints are not of photographs, painted over photos (the latest popular craze) or of computer-generated art but original, one-of-a-kind oil paintings and, as such, the glossy oil plus my rough, uneven technique does not lend itself to produce a perfect image of a painting. My support, usually rough canvas, also has imperfections and a weave which may be discerned on a photo. While smooth watercolors and thin acrylics have characteristics which give a flatter, more generally accepted image, my medium does not. Thus is the nature of my fine artwork is not enhanced by a more expensive camera or better lighting, unfortunately.

Still Life of fruits and flowers and familiar objects
Familiar objects strike a chord and I love painting everyday things around us such as food and flowers! Paul Cezanne has been an influence in my life and I have selected parts of his still life paintings as inspirations to mine. The \"Bowl of Fruit\" shown in this gallery\'s logo was inspired by one of Cezanne\'s early works.
