My name is Dianké Daffé-Rachow. I was born in Senegal and live in Germany since 1984. Germany is my chosen home, because this country gave me the freedom and challenge to live my life and art - that I've discovered here - so how would I - as a woman without losing my roots.
Like most artists, I was inspired from the beginning by the great painters such as Monet, Van Gogh, Bob Ross and Albrecht Durer. For me as an artist these people were geniuses and not painters. Nevertheless, I developed my own style. My paintings reflect my African roots very strongly and the beauty that I experience every day here in Germany.
My pictures should not compete with photography, which does not mean that I have no respect for photography, on the contrary, I love it. Nevertheless, I am not a photographer and not a portrait painter.
Besides my African style I also paint impressionistic and abstract.
People with whom I like to work with, are my big challengers because they have their own ideas and imaginations about art. Thanks to these people I'm a little bit better every day. Today I can say that I have exhibited and sold my paintings in a very prestigious houses, hotels, cities and countries. Which does not mean that I can live off the sale of my paintings, at least not yet.
