He is a graduate of the Fort Lauderdale Institute of Art with an Associate Degree of Photography.
Don studied photography starting at the age of 12 and has continued perusing his passion since then.
In the military Don was a photo reconnaissance lab processing specialist
with special training in photographic chemistry and machine maintenance.
He worked in Coral Gables Florida for Thompson Photographic Labs as a color specialist
and then in Fort Lauderdale as a master darkroom technician.
Don owned his own photo studio and custom color lab.
Has photographed weddings, model composites, commercial products and band promos.
As a naturalist his current photographs feature the world of insects.
Don is a world class entomology photographer. His imagery is showcased on Flickr and Facebook.
He has been chosen 30 times as being in the top 500 on Flickr.
