Don Phillips has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember.
He graduated from the Dallas Art Institute in 1959 and returned there in 1965 as a
guest lecturer. He has participated in many solo and multi-artists shows and exhibits.

Dallas invitational Art Show, summer, 1966 - Won best of Show.

Exhibiting artist at the Art-A-Fair Festival, Laguna Beach, 1981 and 82.
Featured on the cover of the Laguna Weekly magazine three times.
From 1977 to 1995 produced over 400 landscape designs for swimming pools,
winning many awards, including a first place gold medal for design in
International Competition. He also did the illustrations for an unpublished
manuscript called “the Saavanahl Scribes”. Recently his abstract paintings being
shown at the Riverside Art Museum sold out.
His paintings are in private collections throughout the United States and in over a
dozen foreign countries. Since his retirement ten years ago Phillips has been able
to concentrate on painting...This year alone he has been able to produce 72 new
works, most of them large abstracts.
And he’s still in love with it. Phillips never runs out of ideas, nor does he turn
down the opportunity to try new methods and materials in the pursuit of art. He is
