Donna Teleis moved to Wilmington, Delaware, with her family in 1966, where she still lives and does her artwork in a basement studio. Most of Donna’s training has been in the form of attendance at various workshops and evening classes. Ms. Teleis has attended classes at the Center for Creative Arts in Hockessin, Delaware, and has also traveled to workshops at the American Academy of Equine Art in Lexington, Kentucky. Donna did spend her first year in College as an Art major, but she changed majors when deciding that she would prefer to keep her art as a relaxing hobby, rather than a vocation.
While her main interest is the Equine image, Donna has also been commissioned to paint portraits of pets and of homes. She works mainly with oils, graphite, and colored pencil, but has also been known to dabble with watercolor and pastel. While Donna’s painting style tends to realism, she likes to show the viewer the amazing and unexpected variety of colors in the world around us. Donna has won several awards for her artwork.
