Dora Miller

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dora Miller was always interested in art, colors, photography, design and jewelry, she decided to chase the dissimilarity and try all different mediums to create art.

Dora graduated from the Faculdade de Belas Artes de Sao Paulo with degrees in Architecture Design, Fine Arts and Art History. She taught Art Education in Elementary and Secondary schools and Expression and Fundaments of the Communication of Art for College graduates.

Inspired in contrasts and colors, mix of textures and techniques, Dora tried many other mediums, ceramics, design, art restoration and anything else that could be related with art and/or color.

Dora moved to Alaska in 2001, where the intensity of contrasts increased her chase for colors and art conception. 'Alaska is so full of colors, different tones of white and powerful contrasts in the winter, every color in the summer and unimaginable shades in fall and spring.' This vibrant and colorful artist started photographing the local beauty, integrating her education and past experience into her passion for colors, and obtaining magnificent images of Alaska.

Dora enjoys photographing the Alaskan daily life and the scenery of this beautiful State, from northern lights, wildlife to views of Denali and Glaciers in the Alaska Range.

Dora lives near Talkeetna, with her husband, her son and a Karelian bear dog.
