I have two art interest that are at two opposite ends of the creative spectrum. I love the detailed work involved in drawing a portrait and likeness of someone, and on the other hand the beautiful colors and mystical allure of abstract. I think that one of the main reasons that I like drawing celebrities is because once a portrait is completed it can be enjoyed by many. In my opinion there is at least one artist or celebrity that people will admire or at least have admiration for. This could be for their outstanding professional bodies of work, personal accomplishments and achievements, or lending their celebrity to countless worthy causes. My attraction to abstract art is that it makes me see beyond the canvas it's painted on and into the mind of the artist that created it. I started drawing in traditional mediums long ago, but have recently discovered drawing on the ipad and drawing in Corel Painter and Photoshop. It's wickedly amazing the amount of control it gives you when creating your art.
Most of my friends and I have been friends for a really long time. They usually call me D, so this has become the way I sign my work now, d.harris. Something to think about and this may sound silly to you, but one thing that really fascinates me about the human face is that we all have two eyes, two ears, a nose, and a mouth, but yet with bone structure, skin color and genetics we all look very differently, excluding identical twins. Whatever your belief is how we all got here or how we came to exist, or where we end up. You have to admit it's pretty amazing. While we all are not the same and do look very different from one another. We all share common interest ,desires, goals, pains ,and even dreams. I really hope that you enjoy my work, and thanks for visiting.
