Elisabeth Vismans has a solo exhibition at the Glenview Mansion, Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive, MD 20851 from July 6-29, 2008.
She was born in the Netherlands and moved to the United States in the summer of 2000 where she settled in Maryland with her family and two Dutch hunting dogs. As a teenager she already won a prestigious scholarship in drawing but didn’t go to art school until much later in life.
Soon she started to show and sell her paintings in regional juried and solo exhibitions, the State House in Annapolis and has won multiple Awards.
She 's greatly inspired by the Impressionists. Oil paint is her favorite medium and she loves to work in strong brushstrokes with vibrant colors like reds and oranges. She prefers to paint from life objects or sketches, but if that's not possible she will use the occasonial photograph.
