Emily Lounsbury has been drawing her whole life and cultivated through her own self training as well as taking art classes in school where her talent was immediately recognized by her teachers. When it came time for higher education, she decided against being a Biology major and followed her dreams to cultivate her passions and refine her talents in painting and drawing. While in art school she discovered her love for biology and science could also be explored through art in the subject of anatomy. She continued her education in anatomy by going on to become a certified Yoga instructor after graduating with a BFA in Fine Arts Painting & Drawing from the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
Recently, her art has become more colorful, exploring the world of contemporary self-portraits that she gets from her friends on social media. She also maintains her obsession with anatomy and continued study of the human figure, as well as internal skeletal and muscular systems. She hopes to continue to evolve and grow as an artist, as well as sharing her gifts and skills with others through teaching.
