Emma Bluntzer (a.k.a. Edie or E. D.) has a B.S. (secondary education), B.F.A. (fine arts), and a M.S.(in fine arts) from TAMU-Kingsville.She has taught Art App., Drawing I & II, Painting I & II, and Design I. She also studied art in Florence, Italy during the summer of 2005. Studio Art Center International (SACI) allowed her to grow and learn about the masters works as well as her own work during this time. She is most proud of what she has accomplished in her life.
Her favorite media is Pen & Ink, but she is also known for her oils and acrylics as well as her ceramics works. She dose not want to be 'pigeon holed' into a certain type of style, but understands this is one way for future buyers &/ historians to locate her works. She has been known to work on everything from country & western themes to religious icons and everything in between. Her favorite artist are: Max Ernst, Leonora Carrington, Dorthea Tanner, Salvador Dali, of course the masters: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Donatello, Rubens, Degas, Raphael, and her friends: Lisa Bluntzer, Julia Silvas, Hilde P. Edie is married to Carl Bluntzer Jr. for 35 years this past Feb. 14th. They are the proud parents of two daughters Lisa Bluntzer and Cassey Bluntzer Utley. Four grandchildren: Hunter A. Bluntzer, John I. Utley, CoCo L. Utley, and twin brother CollinR. Utley. Her parents John and Joy have supported her passion for art her entire life giving her private lessons during her high school years. She has two siblings, Tamela Weber and John Roane, and several nieces and nephews.
