Erin Fickert-Rowland is an artist who is passionate about color and craftsmanship. Whether working in oil paint, jewelry design, or exploring mixed-media, her art always showcases a vibrant palette and meticulous detail. She continually seeks out new techniques, and is determined to keep pushing her art in new directions. Erin has a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University, with a major in Fine Art Painting and two minors: Art History and Philosophy. During her collegiate studies, she had the opportunity to study at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM, and abroad in Rome, Italy. She received numerous awards at DePauw, including: winning “Best of Show” for Student Art Competitions, being awarded the Emison Fellowship for Outstanding Senior Painter, and selling her first painting to the University.
After graduating from college, Erin moved with her husband to San Luis Obispo, CA where she was very active in the local art community. She participated in multiple juried shows, was the recipient of a grant from the San Luis Obispo Arts Council in 2000, and was invited to participate in the five woman abstract art show, “ ’00 Nouveau- The New Art. ” In 2001, Erin moved with her family to Denver, Colorado, where she is now involved in the local art community.
