I was born loving art and I paint because I must. I come from a family of artists -- my two sisters both were professional designers and illustrators. Primarlly self-taught, I studied at Art Academy of Cincinnati and a few well-chosen classes and workshops. I'm a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and hold membership in the Artists Guild of Spartanburg, SC, Art League of Henderson Co., NC, and the Palette Club of Louisville, which I founded and helped organize to benefit both Professional and Amateur artists in Jefferson Co., Ky. While living in So. Carolina, I also achieved the designation of Member in Excellence of the So. Carolina Watercolor Society.
My work has been a part of many local, regional, and national shows, winning many awards, including being chosen as a finalist in The Artist's Magazine Landscape Painting Competition. My art is included in many private and corporate collections including Western Kraft Company, American Olean Tile Company, the Lucas Corporation, Humana, Bank of America, Wachovia Bank, Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, and Spartanburg Museum of Art, among others.
For many years, a large part of my work was commissioned pastel portraits of children, but in the past few years I have been working to express the Beauty and Drama of the natural landscape, working in oil and pastel.
I am represented by Carolina Gallery in Spartanburg, South Carolina and I have a web site at www.eulalacroix.com.
