I spent most of my working life in Northern California as a graphic artist (consumed by deadlines and minutia) and have finally reached the age of opportunity, when I may concentrate on the work that I am inclined to do. I stumbled into watercolor years ago but realize that I may never explore all it's wonderful possibilities. I have been tempted by other water media, but watercolor is juicy and shiny and runny; it can be difficult and unexpected, and it is all I really want. Starting out trying to 'recreate reality' I have become more taken with simple shapes, color, and light, they way they interact and the variations all around us. For truly, amidst all this chaos, we are surrounded by beauty, order and grace.
