Farid Fakhriddin was born in Nablus on December 29, 1958, into a family of intellectuals
At the age of nine, Farid left Nablus and settled in Amman. Graduated from school in 1977, got his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from United Kingdom.
He started painting in year 1983. He adopted the impressionist & post impressionist style in his paintings, traveling between Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt , Syria and Europe, especially to Italy & Yemen gave him insight to paint much of the rural life and mostly affected by the European style in his paintings. Living in Japan for a little while gave him more insight of the different cultures, that influenced much his creativity to paint different themes.
Following his meticulous self tuition in history of Art, and reading much about Van Goch, Monet , Renoir, Cezanne and Lautric he started painting what he considers the most cherished to his heart and feelings, the Jerusalem Painting painted in year 1990.
Affected much by his readings of Gibran Khalil, he painted in 1991 a portrait of unknown woman inspired by the description of Gibran Khalil of May Ziadah.
Those two mentioned paintings the artist is proud of, made him believe to have a sole exhibition by year 1992, event took place in Crown Hotel Amman.
