Ferenc Pataki

I was born January 31, 1944 in Nagybecskerek ( Zrenjanin/Serbia) where I still live.
After having finished studies in high school I was a clerk. My inclination to arts appeared in my boyhood and youth at first in music. I was more than thirty when I painted my first oil painting.
I am a self taught artist and by 1982 I have developed Naive Style. In my paintings I try to portray my own soul and temperament. More than anything else I love peace and solitude..
The naive art of Ferenc Pataki is an urban dweller's dream of an oasis of peace transposed into an ideal harmony of form and colour. With the hurried pace of life, pollution, the alienation of man from nature and his real being, he contrasts arcadian scenes, the poetry of ideal pictures. These are shady, quiet clearings, hidden amid ancient trees and wooded river banks where peace reigns supreme.
It can be said of Ferenc Pataki that his motifs, his particular stamp on his paintings, his composition, his use of color and his particular sensibility are recognizable, crystal clear in their simplicity. He developed his individual style by assiduous interest in techniques of painting and mainly by permanent painting through many years. His style is distinguishable individual and consequence of his detailing care, pure colours and painting vegetation constructed of dots.
Over the years Ferenc has received many awards and honors for his work and has been featured in many print and online publications.
He has had eight solo exhibition and has participated in more than two hundred group exhibitions worldwide.
