Ireland, where she was born and lived until the age of 23, is one of the two major influences in Flo's art. The other is New England, where she has lived for over 25 years.
The scenery of her homeland, deep in her thoughts and memories emerges in the vistas and seashores of her paintings. The woods of New England, continually transformed by the turn of the seasons are another source of inspiration.
Technically adept in watercolor and oil, Flo believes creating atmosphere in her work is more important than strict realism.
Her original paintings are available for sale in the Boston area. They are also held in private collections elsewhere in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
'Always my purpose is that my paintings create in the viewer a calmness a sense of peace, in our all too fast paced world'
Due to the calming effect of her work, it has been chosen to be displayed by various medical facilities in the Boston area.
Flo's most recent 'Foliage' collection was chosen by South Shore Hospital for their new Emerson Wing which opened in Jan. 2013
