A graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York, Fran has spent most
of her life engaged in the arts. For example, she has designed pottery, woven
fabric on a loom, worked in both oil and water color painting, as well as pastels.
Her work in these media has won her recognition in the New York area.
Further, she has taught art techniques in Adult Education in the Westchester, NY programs.
She enjoys writing and in this activity her poetry reflects her deep sense of our world and our place in it.
From the time she was a little girl she was happiest when doing something artistic. As she grew-up, she dabbled in many different media. Later she had the opportunity to try many things, like water and oil color painting, weaving, sculpturing a small line of miniature items suitable for a doll house such as, tea cups & tea pot, etc.
It wasn’t until she tried photography that Fran found her medium. Her happiest times were in pursuit of the perfect ‘nature’ shot. Later, Fran was fortunate to have some of her work shown which brought more attention to her artistic efforts.
Currently, due to the circumstance of being restricted by a wheelchair, Fran has turned back to her painting. Fran’s love of nature and flowers are an important theme in her art. She has produced several canvases of flowers that showcase her sense of color and form.
Now, since the advances in the computer, a whole new world has opened for her and artists everywhere. As a result she has become a bit of a ‘Nerd’.
Her grandchildren often refer to her as cyber grandma.
