With an increasing awareness to the inner voice of Spirit, my creative self was rebirthed in 2004 and I was able to become reconnected to an integral part of my true being. Art is a means by which I give expression to the authentic, unsophisticated language of my soul. The process I take is intuitive and meditative, and so my work reflects an organic, unconditional quality. Sometimes it is simply playful and other times I find myself on an inner journey into consciousness where the unknown and unexpected have an opportunity to be revealed before my eyes. I have no need or desire for technical perfection, only to be as free and present as possible. My intention is always for an unimpeded flow of energy to be reflected in my work.
The beauty of abstract art is that it gives fluid form to the unlimited realm that lies beneath the seemingly concrete three-dimensional world. The mystery of emotional energy is captured symbolically or in liquid, poetic strokes to convey its subconscious essence. Abstract art can be appreciated for its tangible, visual aesthetics, and it can also serve as a bridge to explore interior realities that are unseen but ever-present. To do so requires a willingness on the part of the viewer to be vulnerable and introspective – to open the heart to hear how it subjectively speaks when the mind cannot readily define something.
Creating art has become a joyous necessity for me that helps me create a sacred life and continually returns me to the present moment which is the only place life can reside. My work simply seeks to be a creative, healing expression of my own soul interacting with the dynamic of Spirit. --FS
