Francoise Villibord was raised on the Brittany peninsula, France. She was educated in Law, a career field she pursued with her husband Jack Pointeau. Living in Châteaugiron, Brittany, she and Jack worked together while raising four children. Francoise developed an appreciation for art at a young age. She drew and painted constantly as a child and young woman traveling throughout France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and North Africa. Her self-taught early work shows her unusual talent for still life portraits and the ability to communicate to the viewer a beautiful and authentic image of different cultures and eclectic street and harbor scenes.
With Jack and her children she migrated to the United States in 1981 and lived in the cosmopolitan San Francisco Bay Area. Soon business and circumstance drew them to the American Southwest to live in Snyder, County Seat of Scurry County in the West Texas Great Plains. While fulfilling the requirements to become a naturalized United States Citizen, Francoise applied herself to study and absorb the culture and history of her new home. She studied the English language, Texas history, life drawing and studio art while attending Western Junior College, Angelo State University and Texas Tech University. Her academic endeavors culminated at the University of New Mexico, where she earned her Master of Arts. During this period she expanded her considerable artistic talent to produce work in photography.
Since Francoise made Texas her home more than 25 years ago, her work in oil, watercolor and photography has shown an ongoing appreciation and love of the Southwestern United States, its culture, its people and its magnificent heritage.
Eventually, Francoise and Jack settled in the Central Texas, Williamson County town of Liberty Hill, where they reside today.
