Francisco (Frank) Rafaél Vázquez Ratcliffe, was born in October 20, 1967 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His mother, Lillibeth Ratcliffe is a collage teacher in the University of Puerto Rico’s Mayaguez branch, and his father, Francisco Vázquez, is a lawyer for Reliable Financial Services Company, in San Juan. His parents divorced in 1983 and they both have their own families. His mother married an Equatorial doctor (Edison Osorio) in 1987 and his father re-married in 1986, the daughter of a once prestigious family in the island Carmen Margarita Aboy. He has a blood related younger sister (Lisa Carlson), who lives in Florida with her family.
During the last 15 years Frank have worked with different publishers, advertising agencies, hospitals, and enterprises. His most distinguished customers have been: Target Group publications, The Cardiovascular Center of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, El Nuevo Día newspaper, Puerto Rican Cement, The American Heart Association, and the Star Telegram.
The first five years of his career, provided him with enough experience and customers to start his own business. Therefore, in February 15, 1995, he opened a studio, keeping Target Group as one of his most important customers. During the first two years, he acquired several non-stable accounts from different publishers, agencies and companies. That’s when he decided to get contract agreements with some semi-private companies. Those companies were: The Cardiovascular Center of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, El Nuevo Día newspaper, and Puerto Rican Cement. By 1997, he was one of the most important photographers in the Island. His work appeared in the covers of the most prestigious newspapers and magazines. The newspapers were: El Nuevo Día, The San Juan Star, and Caribbean Business. The magazines were Imagen, Business Puerto Rico, and Galería.
