Art has always been a passion in my life. I find that interpreting and recreating a moment in time or an impression of someone or something for others to experience and enjoy gives me great satisfaction. To find beauty in the common place, to see elegance and mood in my subjects and to reflect on my views of the places I've been and the people that I love inspires me to paint. My art has been exhibited in numerous Piedmont area shows winning awards such as first place in the watercolor divisions, purchase awards, honorable mentions and best in show. I am an art instructor for our local middle school where I have taught for fourteen years. My art is in many private and public collections. I am one of twelve women that represent the 'Women of Distinction Collection' that is housed and owned by the Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia. I have drawn plans for a memorial that will eventually be erected in Franklin County, Virginia that will memorialize the local firefighters, police officers and EMT personnel that have lost their life in the line of duty. I also drew the visual for the memorial that now stands in Franklin County's memorial park for our veteran's in Franklin County. I was born in New York, but now reside in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband, two children and one grandson.
