Equine artist Gail Finger lives with her husband Dennis on their quaint ranch in beautiful Terrell, Texas. They enjoy the quiet of country living with their horses, dogs and visits from grandchildren. Gail finds this environment is quite conducive to pursuing the passion of capturing hores in all their glory in her artistry.
Gail has drawn hores since her childhood. Her love for horses and art has always been a big part of her life. Gail's previous business involved doing murals, trompe l'oeil, faux finishes, and paintings in people's homes. After a riding accident left her a little less able to spend hours climbing ladders comfortably, she decided to direct her efforts toward what she loves, art and horses.
She joined NETFAA (North East Texas Fine Art Alliance) where she has found inspiration and support through other artists. Another artist at on of the meetings gave Gail some sage advice, 'Find your nitch and do what you love'. Following that advice, Gail is now actively doing commissions of exotic breeds of horses such as the Gypsy Horses, Tennesee Walkers, Haflingers, Freisians, and many more. The mediums that she uses are pastel, acrylic, and graphite and she paints on suede boards, canvas, family heirlooms, and walls.
